Air-purifying respirator. A respirator with an air-purifying filter, cartridge or canister that removes specific air contaminants by passing ambient air.
Assigned protection factor (APF). The workplace level of respiratory protection which a respirator or class of 陽壓呼吸器 is anticipated to supply to workers once a continuous respiratory protection program is implemented by the employer according to the respiratory protection standard.

Canister or cartridge. A container with a filter, sorbent or catalyst, or even a mixture of the things, which removes contaminants from the air passed through the container.

Emergency situation. Result in an uncontrolled discharge of an airborne contaminant.
End-of-service-life indicator (ESLI). A system that warns the respirator user of this approach of the end of adequate respiratory protection, by way of instance, that the sorbent is approaching saturation or is no more powerful.
